Wow! I’m seriously impressed with this trailer (TGS 2006). Crisis Core (for the Sony PSP) is actually a prequel to the original Final Fantasy VII game. If you have played Final Fantasy VII, you would probably know that there are quite a few missing links in the storyline and this game is supposed to fill in some of the gaps.
Although I hate the fact that how SquareEnix is trying to squeeze every single penny out of your wallet forcing you to collect the whole FFVII franchise, I’m actually still looking forward to this game very much because FFVII to me, is still THE BEST Final Fantasy game ever.
This is some information of Crisis Core from Wikipedia:
Plot overview
From details that have been shown it is safe to say this is Zack’s story and will cover the events between the supporting characters Sephiroth, Cloud, Angeal, Aerith, Tseng, and Genesis, as well as other characters with minor roles (such as the other Turks and the other main characters of Final Fantasy VII) up until the events of Nibelheim. Any other further details about the story are yet to be revealed. Yet a major plot point hinted at in the final chapter of Final Fantasy VII universe, Dirge of Cerberus, were the 3 G Reports, the only records left of the Genesis Project and its aftermath. Within the three brief reports it reveals a project performed by Shin-Ra on a SOLDIER only known as “G”. It also discussed the whereabouts of “G” (a.k.a. Genesis), that he was sealed deep under Midgar by a SOLDIER who died in order to defeat him. That SOLDIER that managed to defeat Genesis was most likely Angeal, which explains how the Buster Sword eventually ends up in Zack’s possession.

New Characters
Angeal: A SOLDIER that works together with Zack. From the way he speaks, it seems he has seniority over Zack. Moreover, it seems that he is also in a position of guidance in techniques and doctrines. His troubles and ties seem to be a vital element to the story of this game. He is the mentor of not only Zack but a mentor to others in SOLDIER as well, and seems to be on good terms with fellow SOLDIER Sephiroth . He is presumed to be the previous wielder of the Buster Sword which Cloud inherited from Zack. Angeal’s design seems to be based on Tetsuya Nomura’s original design for Cloud Strife. It was recently revealed in the TGS ‘06 trailer for Crisis Core that he bears two white wings on his back. Though this seems to cause him some internal conflict as he considers it the trait of a monster, Zack instead suggests that they are “the wings of an angel”. He is later seen talking to Zack, asking Zack to fight alongside him, saying “Our enemies are all those who torment the Planet.” Whether or not these genetic anomalies are related to Sephiroth and Genesis (who each bear one black wing, Sephiroth’s positioned on his right and Genesis’ on his left), or Jenova and the Cetra, is still unknown.
Genesis: An existence shrouded in mystery. New information indicates he served as a 1st Class SOLDIER alongside Sephiroth and Angeal, and knew Zack as well. He was ultimately the forerunner and reason for the hidden SOLDIER organization known as Deep Ground in Dirge of Cerberus. Known as G, he is tied with another dark secret of Shin-Ra… “Project Genesis.”
