“Stars are Blind” is the first single off of Paris Hilton’s debut, self-titled album Paris. It officially premiered on radio stations such as New York’s Z100 and L.A’s KIIS-FM on June 2, 2006 following live introductions from Hilton via telephone. The single was released officially for digital download on June 20, 2006. The song has a reggae sound and was produced by Fernando Garibay.
Hilton shot the video for the single on a Malibu, California beach on May 24, 2006. The video for the song features many images of her walking and rolling around on the beach with a lover. It premiered on June 6, 2006 on MTV.
The video has been compared with Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”, Madonna’s “Cherish” and Britney Spears’ “Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know”.
